International Law Society

Globalization affects every area of law. International Law Society (ILS) exposes the University of Chicago’s students to the many facets of public and private international law and cross-border transactions. ILS is one of the Law School’s most active student organizations. Our well-attended guest speaker program features a variety of international and comparative law experts including academics, attorneys, and government officials from around the world. ILS takes an active role in the LL.M. program, encouraging networking and debate by hosting quarterly J.D./LL.M. mixers. The organization also advises and supports students seeking work experience in the international arena. ILS is a space for all internationally-minded students, whether they are interested in practicing international law, engaging with global issues, or forming friendships with professionals and students from around the world.
