Lucy Seyfarth is a lawyer with expertise in the human rights field and with unique insight into the intersections between law and policy. She works on issues related to justice and accountability and transitional justice on the Great Lakes Region of Africa, Southern Africa, and Nigeria. She also manages the State Department’s War Crimes Rewards Program. Lucy has worked at the State Department in the Washington office of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and in the International Organizations Bureau. Before joining the U.S. government, she worked on national security issues at Human Rights First and has also worked at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
