The Brennan Center Jorde Symposium is an annual event created in 1996 to sponsor top scholarly discourse and writing on issues central to the legacy of Justice William J. Brennan Jr.

David Strauss (University of Chicago Law School) will be presenting "Polarization, Victimization, and Judicial Review." Commentators include: Amna Akbar (Ohio State University Moritz College of Law), Ryan Doerfler (Harvard University), and Moshe Habertal (NYU School of Law)

Professor David Strauss will explore how a version of judicial review that has been successful in the past — based on the understanding that courts will intervene when people are unfairly excluded from democratic politics — threatens, today, to become a destructive competition among groups claiming the status of victims.

This event is presented by the Brennan Center for Justice and Yale Law School. Event time is 4-6 p.m. ET, 3-5 p.m. CT.
