Update on UChicago Law Admitted Students Programming

March 11, 2020

Dear Admitted Students:

We've been closely following the evolving situation with coronavirus (COVID-19), and have decided in accordance with University guidance and for the safety of our community and visitors to cancel our upcoming Admitted Students Weekend and Day in the Life programming. We are also suspending individual admitted and prospective campus visits to the Law School through April 15, 2020.

Although the local COVID-19 problem in Illinois is still limited, public health officials have said that continuing growth of cases is likely and large public events can pose an added risk, especially those with travelers from many locations. In addition, travel advisories and flight availabilities have been changing recently with little notice. As a result, on March 10 the University suspended most University-sponsored events and gatherings of more than 100 people, effective through April 15. We are as disappointed as you are that we cannot welcome you to campus for Admitted Students Weekend and Day in the Life! Our entire community is working on alternative programming to introduce you to our Law School in a variety of virtual ways and we will share that with you as soon as possible. As the situation evolves, we will also keep you posted whether it will be possible to reschedule visits to our campus.

In the meantime, please visit our FAQ and do not hesitate to reach out to me or to any member of our Admissions team. Our contact information is available at the bottom of the Admitted Student landing page

We are so excited to welcome you to the Class of 2023 and we look forward to connecting with you in as many ways as possible.

Sincerely,

Ann K. Perry

Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
