Monica Castro, ’12, recipient of Harry C. Bull Scholarship Fund on her scholarship
I have the deepest gratitude for the financial assistance I received as a recipient of the Harry C. Bull Scholarship Fund. I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami in 2009, where I majored in English literature and minored in psychology. I always aspired to obtain a degree in law, and so I was committed to my studies and hoped to gain admittance to a prestigious school.
Of course, when I learned of my acceptance to Chicago, I was elated. But I was also concerned with my ability to meet the financial demands of annual tuition. The opportunity to receive financial aid seriously influenced my decision to attend the Law School, an experience that continues to open so many avenues of opportunity for me. At the Law School, I was president of the Latino Law Students Association and co-director of the Law School Musical. I graduated in June and have joined the New York office of Morrison Foerster as a first-year associate in the litigation group. I know this opportunity is mine because of both my hard work and the generous scholarship I was so fortunate to receive.
