Effective Altruism is a social movement and life ethic focused on attempting to answer the following question: how can we do the most good with our limited resources? Whereas many movements focus on particular social problems and solutions, Effective Altruism focuses on the methods by which we come to prioritize problems and solutions. The core idea here is that by improving our ability to recognize the world's most pressing problems, we can multiply our positive impact on the world.
UChicago Law Effective Altruism aims to serve as a hub for law students interested in Effective Altruism. In particular, we hope to help law students determine which public interest or pro bono causes to work on, as well as how we can most effectively use our future earnings to better the world.
