The Law School Auditorium held a capacity crowd of more than 325 people for Justice Scalia’s Schwartz Lecture.
The board of the Federalist Society talked with Justice Scalia the morning before the lecture.
Scalia taught Professor Aziz Huq’s Constitutional Law I course on February 13, 2012. The topic for the day was federalism. Justice Scalia began by explaining the critical importance of the structure laid out by the Constitution, and by declaring that the 17th Amendment was a substantial blow to the protection of the states from the federal government.
Justice Scalia met with the board of the Federalist Society, an organization he helped to found when he was on the Law School faculty.
Justice Scalia addressed 130 students at a lunchtime talk on February 14, 2012 and took questions.
