CLF Auction 2012
On Thursday, January 19, 2012 the Law School community celebrated the 15th anniversary of our annual public interest auction. This year we time traveled back to the 1980s for the New Kids on the Blauction. Neon-clad, footloose, and fancy-free, hundreds of Chicagoans bid on over 200 silent auction items. At 6:30PM, students, professors, and faculty members gathered together for the live auction where we were in good hands with Professor Baird, our seasoned auctioneer.
Students held up neon placards while cheering one another on to higher bids, topping the bidding charts to spend the day shooting clay pigeons with Professor Henderson or to take a significant other to Napa for a romantic get-away. While students battled for the winning bid, our law school classes competed in a tipping war, with the class of 2012 dominating the competition. The night ended as colorfully as it began when two yellow school buses pulled up to the Law School to transport students to the South Loop for Bar Review at Scout. As of the Friday after the auction, the Chicago Law Foundation estimates $67,000 raised from this totally rad event. We couldn't be prouder of the generosity of the Law School community.
