Michael Kelley has devoted his career in law and finance to finding creative solutions in complex transactions, particularly in regard to litigation finance and investment funds. He is a leader within Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, serving as the firm's Washington, DC Office Development Partner. In that role, he leads the DC office's community engagement and growth strategy.

A thought-leader in the legal finance industry, Michael has been recognized by Chambers with a Band 1 USA ranking in the Litigation Finance Deal Counsel category and by Lawdragon as a top 10 global advisor in litigation finance. Michael is a frequent speaker on key issues in the evolving legal finance industry, including innovative structuring for the monetization of claims assets by dedicated funders, multi-strategy investors, investment banks, family offices and high net worth individuals. He also represents a large range of law firms, including AMLAW 50 through small firm practitioners, as well as both corporate and individual claimants in litigation finance transactions.

Michael is the former general counsel of EMP Global, where he oversaw approximately $8 billion in assets across 10 different investment funds in the emerging markets. He has served on investment committees and advisory boards for funds, as well as boards of directors for project companies, in Latin America, the United States, Canada, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
