Ed Walters is the Chief Strategy Officer of vLex and the founder of Fastcase, a legal publishing company based in Washington, DC. Ed previously worked at Covington & Burling in DC and Brussels, and in the White House Office of Presidential Speechwriting.

Ed earned an AB in government from Georgetown University and a JD from the University of Chicago, where he served as Topics & Comments Editor of The University of Chicago Law Review. He clerked on the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Ed is the editor of Data-Driven Law (Taylor & Francis 2018) and a contributing author to Legal Informatics (Cambridge University Press 2021). He serves on the board of Pro Bono Net and on the Leaders Council for the Legal Services Corporation.
