FAQs: Admitted Student Programming 2020
Thank you for all of your patience as we navigate this very unique chapter in the law school admissions cycle!
We know many of you have questions. We are hoping to answer many of the logistical questions in this FAQ. We are also working on alternative online programming so we can answer more of your questions about life at UChicago Law and in the City of Chicago. We will be in communication with you via email with any significant updates and with more detailed information about our online offerings.
We are beyond pleased to welcome you to our Class of 2023 and we are looking forward to introducing you to our Law School community in a variety of virtual ways!
As always, please do not hesitate to contact the UChicago Law Admissions team with any questions.
Can I schedule an individual visit?
At this time, under University guidelines, we have suspended all individual admitted and prospective student visits to the Law School through April 15, 2020. We are hoping we will be able to reevaluate individual visits as circumstances change, but in the meantime, we are working with our entire Law School community to create virtual ways to connect with you.
Will the admitted student programming be re-scheduled after April 15, 2020?
At this time, we do not know. We do not have anything planned for after April 15, 2020 at this time. If that should change, we will notify you via email.
Will the deposit deadline change?
As of now, our deposit deadline is still May 1, 2020. We are continuing to monitor this situation and will notify you of any changes to the deposit deadline via email.
Will I get a travel reimbursement for Admitted Students Weekend (4/2-4/4) or Day in the Life (4/13)?
Our goal is to work with you on a case-by-case basis to resolve travel reimbursements. As a first step, please check with the airlines regarding cancellations. Most airlines are waiving cancellation fees and issuing refunds or travel credits. If you can cancel your airline reservation for a refund or a credit, please do so. We cannot reimburse you for travel that can be refunded or credited, including credits for future travel with waived change fees. If you cannot cancel your travel reservations for a refund or a credit, please email us at admissions@law.uchicago.edu.
