The #MeToo movement has shed light on the problems of sexual discrimination, assault, and harassment in all aspects of society and presents a unique opportunity for scholars to examine the law’s role in reinforcing gender inequality, the consequences of legal strategies in sexual harassment and assault cases, and how our legal system can best provide justice for survivors. Panelists will use the issues, discussions, and stories of #MeToo as a lens to explore themes at the intersection of law and culture in a moment of reckoning and demand for change.

Please note: two of this symposium's sessions will be open to the media and will be recorded in their entirety for podcast: 

• 10:40 am: Panel: "Rhetoric, Media, and #MeToo" with Professors Vicki Schultz, Brian Soucek, Lesley Wexler, and Mary Anne Franks
• 12:15 pm: Keynote presentation by Valerie B. Jarrett with Professor Emily Buss

All other sessions will be closed to media. The panel presentations at the other sessions will be recorded for possible podcast, but the Q&A will NOT be recorded in any session other than the two listed above.
