Federal Criminal Justice Clinic's Pro Bono Training
Room F
1111 East 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60637
The Federal Criminal Justice Clinic will be conducting a training on Monday, October 15th in Room F for all students interested in participating in pro bono projects at the clinic. Pizza will be served.
The Federal Criminal Justice Clinic is conducting a new systemic impact project aimed at reforming the federal bond system and reducing the jailing of people who are presumed innocent. While there is a robust movement to end money bail at the state level, little has been done to address the over-incarceration crisis at the federal level, which overwhelmingly impacts indigent clients of color. The FCJC’s project will fill this void.
The FCJC’s bond project has a court-watching component in which volunteers will engage in observation and data-gathering during hearings in federal court in Chicago.
