Please join the Br. David Darst Center for our January Speakers Series featuring Ms. Maria Woltjen.

Ms. Woltjen is the founder and Executive Director of the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights at the University of Chicago Law School, which is a national organization that advocates for the best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children. Throughout her 25 years as an attorney, she has worked tirelessly as staunch advocate for children’s rights. In addition to her work at the Youth Center, she has also served on the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, the Child Law Center at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, as well as taught at the University of Chicago Law School. For her efforts, Maria was the recipient of both the American Constitution Society 2013 Ruth Goldman Award and the 2017 UNICEF Chicago Humanitarian Award.

We hope that you will be a part of this exciting evening as Maria shares her experiences with advocating for children's rights and immigration reform. It will then be followed by a Q and A session. Light snack and refreshments will be provided.
