The Domestic and Sexual Violence Project aims to promote awareness, education, and discussion about the legal issues surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault. To that end, DSVP organizes regular lunch talks featuring experts in the field and hosts item drives benefiting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. DSVP also gives law students the opportunity to represent low-income domestic violence victims in Order of Protection hearings; under the supervision of a Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services staff attorney, DSVP Pro Bono League participants volunteer at the Domestic Violence Courthouse in Cook County throughout the academic year.
