APALSA, LWC, ACS and Outlaw present Judge Pamela Chen (E.D.N.Y.), the first openly gay Article III judge. Judge Chen is a Chicago native. She received her B.A. from University of Michigan, and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Before her nomination to the Eastern District of New York by President Obama in 2013, she worked in private practice, then for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. She also worked as an assistant U.S. attorney, and a chief in the civil rights section. Lunch from Medici will be served.
