The JD/MBA Association hosts Victor Hwang, Managing Director of T2 Venture Capital, for a discussion about Innovation Ecosystems. Mr. Hwang will be sharing insights from a white paper he has written titled, "The Rainforest: How 'Chicago Thinking' Explains Silicon Valley." He has collaborated with Professor William Hubbard on the paper.

Mr. Hwang, a 1996 graduate of The Law School, is the co-founder and Managing Director of T2 Venture Capital, a Silicon Valley venture firm at the intersection of private venture and public policy.  T2VC grows startups, manages capital, and builds innovation ecosystems around the world. T2VC advises governments on capital formation, innovation policy, and entrepreneurial programs. Mr. Hwang is a Kauffman Fellow, a member of a selective program to groom leaders of the venture capital industry. He is the immediate past President of Larta Institute, one of the nation's leading organizations helping to commercialize technology from key government agencies, such as the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. Before joining Larta Institute, Victor was a corporate attorney in technology matters with Irell & Manella and the international firm of Mayer, Brown & Platt. Victor practiced in a variety of legal areas, including negotiating venture capital investments, public and private equity and debt, and multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions.
