Bigelow Practical Writing Presentation: Government Lawyering
Guest presenter Michael Negron will discuss his experience with legal writing in the context of government lawyering. Mr. Negron has worked in various aspects of the federal government, before recently making the move to local government. He was the first staff member hired for Elizabeth Warren’s TARP oversight panel, worked for the Obama administration at the White House Office of Management and Budget, and until recently served as a Special Counsel to the Department of Defense General Counsel. Mr. Negron has recently returned to his hometown of Chicago, as he was selected by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to serve as the Director of Chicago’s Innovation Delivery Team, a unit within the Mayor's Office funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies and established to help the City of Chicago deliver faster, better services to residents and businesses for less.
This is the first in a series of presentations on aspects of legal writing in various practical settings that will continue throughout the year. All students are welcome. Lunch will be provided.
This program qualifies for 10 Keystone Points in the Written Communication category.
