White House Champions of Change: Celebrating Public Service Attorneys

10/13

Open to the public

This is a webcast event and conversation with public service attorneys, law students and faculty, and Attorney General Eric Holder. At this event, the White House and Attorney General will illustrate the range and quality of public interest lawyers’ accomplishments by honoring 16 exemplar public service Champions at the White House, including University of Chicago alum Lillian Johnson (’75), the Executive Director of Community Legal Services in Arizona.

Our law school will host its own live-stream of this event in the Auditorium, during which Attorney General Holder and others at the White House will urge law students across the nation to perform pro bono.  After highlighting the work of the Champions, Attorney General Holder will field questions previously submitted electronically from law schools/students across the nation, about how to use their legal training to help secure equal access to our justice system.  Law students will have the opportunity to sign up for the Law School's Pro Bono Pledge at the event as well.
