Rational Models Seminars are a speaker series at the University of Chicago that engage scholars from the disciplines of economics, philosophy, law, psychology--anything connected with the insights and limits of applying theories of rational choice to social, economic, and political issues. The Seminars are led by Gary Becker, Professor in the Departments of Economics and Sociology, and Richard Posner, Senior Lecturer in Law and Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. They are open to both faculty and students and occur during in the fall and spring quarters.

The second Rational Models Seminar of the spring quarter is on Thursday, April 30, and will feature Tore Ellingsen (Stockholm University) presenting a paper on "Why Labels Affect Cooperation" It will be held in Rosenwald 329 at 7:30PM.
