Sean Z. Kramer is a partner in the Firm’s private equity practice in the Bay Area, where he represents top-tier financial sponsors and their portfolio companies on a wide range of transactional matters.
He regularly leads all types and sizes of transactions, including large cap leveraged buyouts, middle market add-on acquisitions and growth equity investments, across sectors, including technology, healthcare and consumer, and business services.
Sean previously held a senior position at a market-leading investment fund focused on legal and regulatory risk, and he remains connected to the litigation finance industry to further assist clients in assessing legal assets and liabilities.
He co-founded the Kirkland & Ellis Corporate Lab at the University of Chicago Law School, a clinical program in which students learn transactional law by working with the legal and business teams of select public and private companies, non-profit organizations and investment funds.
Sean's broad experiences in business, law and education provide a unique perspective on transactions. His clients value that his legal judgment is complemented by a deep understanding of the commercial implications of transactions for investors, management teams and companies.
