Federal courts are hearing challenges to the Trump administration on issues ranging from immigration, to tariffs, to federal funding. These suits may test the limits of judicial power: to issue various types of relief, to make decisions quickly (including on the Supreme Court’s emergency docket), and to have judicial orders enforced. Meanwhile, there have been calls in Congress for impeaching federal judges or taking other measures to curb their authority. This panel will explore the challenges that the federal courts face in today's legal and political environment.
Lunch will be provided. Co-sponsored by the Malyi Center for the Study of Institutional and Legal Integrity and the Constitutional Law Institute.
