Marenberg found himself in the middle of a food fight last year, representing YouTube superstar MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson) in a $100 million breach of contract battle with Virtual Dining Concepts, the company behind the fast-food chain MrBeast Burgers. MrBeast sued first, trying to extricate himself from the restaurant, referencing consumer complaints about the burgers being “disgusting” and “inedible.” Marenberg, the consummate strategist, couldn’t help but add a personal touch to the proceedings. “I actually like and have a lot of respect for opposing counsel,” he says, “so I felt a bit guilty that at one deposition we catered their lunch by ordering from MrBeast Burger.”
