The Chicago Law Foundation’s 28th annual auction took place on February 20, 2025.
The evening’s theme was “Margaritaville.”
Students enjoyed tropical popsicles and margaritas, temporarily putting Chicago’s February weather out of mind.
Students bid on items during the silent auction, including a Zoom session with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, ’88, tickets to a White Sox game, a private in-home wine tasting, and a pizza party with Ann Perry, associate dean for admissions and financial aid.
The silent auction also featured Supreme Court justice bobbleheads, donated by Professors Richard Helmholz and Dennis Hutchinson.
The evening’s performances included Case Notes, an a cappella group, and the Law School Musical band.
Students raised over $600 in an online raffles for a 1984 architectural rending of the 1987 expansion of the Law School building, gift cards, and UChicago Law swag.
Student made bidding plans before the live auction began.
Professor Adam Davidson reprised his role as auctioneer during the live bidding.
Students had the opportunity to bid on items ranging from a drag brunch with Dean of Students office staff to dim sum brunch with the Bigelow fellows, and a personalized improv show provided by Professor William Hubbard’s troupe.
Other live auction items included a game night with Professors Alison LaCroix and Bridget Fahey, a boat cruise with Professor Randall Schmidt, and a chartered sailboat with Michael Kelley, lecturer in law.
After an intense bidding war, Alli Lowe, ’25, won clay shooting with Professor Todd Henderson for $2,300.
