Rachel Caldwell, ’25; Rosie Gruen, ’25; Daniela Hernandez, LLM ’24; Ulysses Keevan-Lynch, ’25; Elina Bitzika, LLM ’24; Jake Turobiner, ’25; Júlia Ferreira, LLM ’24; and Lexi Harwick, ’26, celebrate their first day back to school after working over the summer in Big Law and public interest.
At a faculty meeting, Professor Adam Chilton, played by Megan Pitt, ’24, is swarmed by students while attempting to make an announcement.

Judge Easterbrook introduces Professor Jonathan Masur, played by Gabbie Zook, ’24, as the “Kirkland & Ellis Distinguished Imperial Majesty of the Annual Honorable Judge Frank Hoover Easterbrook Law and Economics Symposium.” The symposium introduces a singing competition among Law School professors to be the keynote speaker.
Professor Saul Levmore, played by Tyler Mikulis, ’24, tells the other professors they shouldn’t even bother competing since he and Professor Adriana Robertson will win the singing competition.
Professors Julie Roin, played by Elise Gramlich, ’24, and Anna-Maria Marshall, played by Cordell Brown, ’24, audition for the symposium keynote by suggesting bringing Enron back and repealing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act to the tune of “Sexy Back.”
Professors Levmore and Robertson, played by Maggie Wells, ’24, audition for the keynote presentation, singing that they’re bringing econ back.
Professors Genevieve Lakier and Emily Buss cameo for their audition on Night 1, hoping to bring unblinded grading back.
Professors John Rappaport and Anthony Casey rehearsed their cameo before the show, with director Sophia Houdaigui, ’24, teaching them their part for Night 2.
Professors Aziz Huq, played by Ca-Zao Bui, ’24, and Joshua Macey, played by Houdaigui, miss their audition, but Judge Easterbrook overhears them singing “September” and gives them a callback.
Members of the Environmental Law Society, played by Claire Black, ’25, Desiree Santos, ’25, and Andrew Obeso, ’25, are concerned that Professor Macey is too busy auditioning for the keynote presentation and isn’t preparing for their lunch talk.
Professors LaCroix and Hajin Kim, played by Mayson Moody, ’24, join forces to convince Professors Huq and Macey to bow out of the competition singing “Getcha Head in the Frame/Getcha Head in the Game.”

In the end, Professors Huq and Macey win the competition to present the keynote at the “Annual Honorable Judge Frank Hoover Easterbrook Law and Economics Symposium,” and the school celebrates the interdisciplinarity of UChicago Law.
