The Law Students Association (LSA) and the Law School partnered to welcome students' families to the Law School on October 20 for the third annual Family Friday event.
The event began with welcome remarks from Dean Thomas J. Miles, the Clifton R. Musser Professor of Law and Economics; Deputy Dean William H.J. Hubbard, the Harry N. Wyatt Professor of Law; and Michelle Mbekeani, ’14.
The event offered families a variety of ways to get to know the Law School through breakout sessions. Clinical Professor Sarah Konsky, Director of the Jenner & Block Supreme Court and Appellate Clinic, along with clinical students, discussed the work of the clinic, what students get to work on, and what drew them to the the Jenner & Block Supreme Court and Appellate Clinic.
Breakout sessions included mock classes. Professor William Baude taught Constitutional Law …
… while Professor Saul Levmore taught a Contracts class.
Clinical Professor Mark Templeton, Director of the Abrams Environmental Law Clinic, and clinical students discussed the work of the clinic.
Families toured the Law School.
Breakout sessions also included a panel for students to discuss their experience in law school.
The event concluded with a reception in the Green Lounge. Here, José Luis Rodríguez, senior associate director of student affairs & diversity and inclusion, and Jesse Landstrom, senior associate director of advising and wellness programs, mingle with families.
Participants talk with Professor Douglas Baird.
Thank you to all families who visited the Law School for Family Friday!
