Paul Hastings Hires Hunton Andrews Antitrust Co-Chairs

Paul Hastings LLP has hired three partners from Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, including two who co-chaired its antitrust and consumer protection practice, the firm announced Monday.

Ryan Phair, Craig Y. Lee and Carter Simpson join Paul Hastings in Washington, D.C. Phair will co-chair the firm's antitrust practice.

At Hunton Andrews Kurth, Phair also co-chaired the retail and consumer products industry group. Lee, a former federal prosecutor, led the cartel and investigations practice there.

Firm chair Frank Lopez said in a statement that Phair and Lee will boost Paul Hastings' capabilities "at a time when companies face increasing antitrust risks," including criminal and regulatory probes, enforcement actions and litigation.

"Their deep agency and diverse industry experience, particularly in antitrust litigation and criminal investigations, will be invaluable to clients," Lopez said.

The firm did not immediately respond to interview requests for the new partners.

In a statement from the firm, Phair said Paul Hastings' "global brand and broad geographic footprint" will help grow their practice. Lee cited "the firm's impressive growth, along with its global platform and litigation strength in Washington, D.C."
