Patterson Belknap Brings On IP Litigator From Davis Polk

Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP's New York office has welcomed a patent litigator, who brings nearly a decade of experience, including most recently as counsel at Davis Polk, as its newest partner.

Kathryn Bi, whose practice is focused on complex technology litigation, made the leap to Patterson Belknap after nearly five years at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where she worked from May 2020 until this month. Her practice spans a range of industries, including telecommunications, medical devices, and computer hardware and software, Patterson Belknap described in a statement Wednesday.

"Patterson has an incredible bench of trial lawyers," Bi said Thursday in a statement to Law360 Pulse when asked what drew her to the firm. "I am excited to help them build on their long track-record of success in patent and trade-secret litigation."

The firm's leaders, including co-chair and managing partner Dahlia Doumar, praised the new partner, emphasizing her expertise.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kathryn to the firm," Doumar said in the firm's statement. "She is a terrific addition to our litigation department and to our patent litigation practice. Kathryn's deep experience as an intellectual property litigator and focus on complex technology matters will provide great value to our clients."
