Trump to nominate two Texans to 5th Circuit Court of Appeals

WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump will nominate two Texans for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, Texas Sen. John Cornyn and Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed on Thursday.

They include Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett, a colorful conservative previously floated as a contender for the U.S. Supreme Court, and former Texas Solicitor General James Ho, a Dallas attorney.

Ho previously served as Cornyn’s chief counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee and worked for the Justice Department under President George W. Bush. He’s now a partner in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and co-chair of the firm’s Appellate and Constitutional Law practice group, according to its website.
