David Barrett Williams, 85, passed away peacefully with family beside him on September 4, 2024 at Golden Years in Lake Geneva where he had been recovering from a recent stroke. David was born in Fairmont, Minnesota, on June 29, 1939, the second son of Harold Booch and Emily (Barrett) Booch. He moved to Wisconsin in 1945 with his mother and two brothers, Barrett (Storrs) and Peter, to the Barrett family home in Williams Bay where David would reside the majority of his lifetime. Emily was re-married to Mark Williams, who adopted and raised David and his brothers, including the addition of brother Lindsay Williams.

David graduated from Williams Bay High School in 1957, attended Carroll College before transferring and graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1961, and received a law degree at the University of Chicago in 1965. He joined the Delavan law firm of Richardson & Hammett, later Hammett & Williams, prior to a merger with Brennan, Steil, Basting & McDougall in Janesville. David served on the Williams Bay Village Board in the 60's and 70's and was elected as the village's first municipal judge in 1979, where he proudly served for 36 years, through 17 election cycles, until his retirement in 2014.
