Daniel J. Calabretta, '03: Appointed to a Judgeship in the Sacramento County Superior Court

Daniel J. Calabretta, 40, who's been Brown's deputy legal affairs secretary since 2013, has been appointed to a judgeship in the Sacramento County Superior Court. Before working for Brown, he was a deputy attorney general at the California Department of Justice. Calabretta, a Democrat, was an associate at Munger Tolles from 2005 to 2008.
From 2004 to 2005, he clerked for Justice John Paul Stevens at the U.S. Supreme Court, according to Brown's release. He got his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
