A graduate of The Law School, Mr. Friedman started his career with the City of Chicago Law Department, where he served in the Appeals and Finance Divisions. While with the City, Mr. Friedman was responsible for almost 100 appeals in Illinois and federal courts. He served as counsel to the Chicago Landmark Commission and litigated cases in Circuit Court and the United States District Court. Mr. Friedman now is a managing attorney with Neal & Leroy, Chicago, where his major practice area is representing clients and litigating land use cases. His experience includes zoning, eminent domain, municipal law and finance and historic preservation.
Mr. Friedman's service to the profession and community includes lecturing and writing on eminent domain and historic preservation topics for lawyers and serving on boards of preservation advocacy organizations, such as Landmarks Illinois.
