Karl Leonard joined the University of Chicago Law School as a Lecturer in Law in the Exoneration Project in 2018. He is an alumnus of the Law School ('09) and participated in the Exoneration Project clinic as a student. Karl received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating from the Law School, Karl worked for 6 years as an associate at Winston & Strawn LLP, where his pro bono practice included the representation of wrongfully-convicted individuals. He joined the Exoneration Project in 2016 where he represents innocent people seeking post-conviction relief.
