“Where Financial Regulation Meets Human Rights: The Enforcement of Market Abuse Prohibition in the EU” with Professor Andrea Perrone

Andrea Perrone is full professor of corporate law and securities regulation at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC). He teaches Principles of Financial Regulation and EU Economic Law in the UCSC School of Banking, Finance and Insurance, and Securities Regulation in the UCSC Law School. Before joining the School of Banking, Finance, and Insurance, Professor Perrone has taught at the UCSC Law School of Piacenza and the University of Ferrara. He has been visiting professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Université Paris X at Nanterre, University of Warsaw, and the University of Novosibirsk.
Professor Perrone is the author of three monographs and a well-known handbook in securities regulation. He conducts his research in both Italy and the United States. He has been visiting scholar at the Yale Law School, and since 2000 he has been spending the summer doing research at the University of Chicago Law School. He is the director of the master program in Family Banking and a member of the doctoral school at the UCSC Law School. He is a member of the editorial board of “Banca, borsa e titoli di credito” and “Orizzonti del diritto commerciale” and regularly acts as a referee for academic law journals.
In addition to teaching and researching in the field of corporate law and securities regulation, professor Perrone is engaged in several non-profit activities. He serves as the director of CESEN (Center for the study of ecclesiastical and other non-profit organizations) and the president of the Spe Salvi Foundation. He is also a member of the UCSC Center for international cooperation, a board member of the E4Impact Foundation, and was an advisor at the Fetzer Institute. He served on the editorial committee for the “White Book” published by the Italian Agency for Non-profit Organizations.
