4/17

Open to the public

On Wednesday, April 17, Judge Reena Raggi will address federal criminal sentencing from the perspective of both a trial court and appeals court judge. Judge Raggi began her judicial career in 1987 as a Reagan appointee to the federal district court of Eastern New York, at the age of 35. She was appointed by President Bush to the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit where she has served since 2002. Prior to her service on the bench, Judge Raggi worked at two New York law firms—Cahill, Gordon, and Reindel; and Windels, Marx, Davies, and Ives; and she served in 1986 as interim US Attorney. Judge Raggi is a graduate of Harvard Law School, and she clerked for Judge Thomas Fairchild on the seventh circuit here in Chicago.
