Rational Models Seminars - Becker and Posner
Rational Models Seminars are a speaker series at the University of Chicago that engage scholars from the disciplines of economics, philosophy, law, psychology--anything connected with the insights and limits of applying theories of rational choice to social, economic, and political issues. The Seminars are led by Gary Becker, Professor in the Departments of Economics and Sociology, and Richard Posner, Senior Lecturer in Law and Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. They are open to both faculty and students and occur during in the fall and spring quarters.
The first Rational Models Seminar of the spring quarter is on Tuesday, April 14, and will feature Roger Myerson, Glen A. Lloyd Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Economics and the College, presenting a paper on “Constitutional Structures for a Strong Democracy.” It will be held in Rosenwald 329 at 7:30PM.
