Martha Nussbaum to Receive Honorary Degree from Ecole Normale Superieure

On October 18th, the Ecole Normale Superieure will confer the title of of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Martha Nussbaum.

Professor Martha Nussbaum is Ernst Freund Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago Law School. She has made significant contributions into an array of disciplines working within the fields of law, philosophy, Classics, and Political Science, among others. Some of her publications include The Fragility of Goodness: Luck and Ethics in Greek Tragedy and Philosophy (1986), Sex and Social Justice (1998), Women and Human Development - The Capabilities Approach (2000). The translation of her book Love's Knowledge has just been released by Editions du Cerf.
