Rubenstein, a 1973 graduate of the Law School, held positions at law firms and in federal government, including serving in the Carter administration, before cofounding The Carlyle Group, which has become one of the world’s largest private equity firms. He is considered one of the nation’s leading businessmen and philanthropists.
