The vast majority of commodity crops grown in the U.S. are genetically modified (GMO). California and Washington state voters have recently rejected proposals to mandate labeling of GMO in foods. Other countries require such labels or restrict the distribution of GMOs altogether.

Should the government regulate these “Frankenfoods”?  Restrict their distribution? Require their labeling? Professor Omri Ben-Shahar will discuss the debate over GMO policy, and the law and politics of mandated food labeling, in the aftermath of the defeated GMO labeling bills.
