The Future of Financial Regulation in a New Presidential Administration
Room V
1111 East 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60637
This conference will explore the issues confronting federal financial regulators at this moment of transition from one presidential administration to another. As agencies experience turnover in their political leadership, what will those personnel and policy changes mean for entities such as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission; for their priorities and theories of regulatory enforcement; for offensive and defensive legal issues on the desks of an agency’s general counsel; and for the operational and organizational challenges overseen by an agency’s chief of staff? This event convenes regulators, academics, and practicing attorneys to discuss the most pressing and consequential developments affecting oversight of the world’s largest financial markets.
