ILS, HRLS, and LWC invite you to a special lunch talk with Nasrin Sotoudeh, a renowned Iranian human rights lawyer who has defended political activists, journalists, and women’s rights advocates—including those arrested for appearing in public without a hijab. For her relentless advocacy, Nasrin was venerated as one of Time's 100 Most Influential People. For that same work, Iran sentenced Sotoudeh to over 38 years in prison and 148 lashes. Now on medical furlough and still in Iran, Sotoudeh joins us for a live, virtual conversation, moderated by Pegah Banihashemi, on the defense of human rights in Iran with an exclusive introductory film clip by Producer/Director Jeff Kaufman.
