Madeline Townsend is a member of the board of directors for the National Lawyers Guild Chicago chapter. She works as a public defender in the family defense unit within the Cook County Public Defender’s Office. She will be coming, along with a friend from the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office, to talk about the child welfare system, defending families and parents in court, abolition, family policing, and other related topics.
