Dignity and the Trajectory of a Human Life
Featuring Professor Jeremy Waldron, University Professor and Professor of Law at New York University.
The lecture will examine the relation between human dignity as a general category and the dignity properly accorded to humans of different shapes and sizes: infants, teenagers, rational adults, the elderly, and so on. It will ask what the relationship is between human dignity in general and human dignity as a basis for the specific forms of respect that humans of different kinds may command.
This event is open to the public. Boxed lunches will be available prior to the lecture. Registration is not required. If you have any questions or special assistance needs, please contact the Office of Events at lawevents@law.uchicago.edu.
