The University of Chicago Law School is proud to present the 2006 Schwartz Lecture. The Ulysses and Marguerite Schwartz Memorial Lectureship at the University of Chicago Law School is held by a distinguished lawyer or teacher whose experience is in the academic field or practice of public service. The 2006 Schwartz Lecturer is Stephen Breyer, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Justice Breyer will be discussing his new book, Active Liberty : Interpreting Our Democratic Constitution. The Schwartz lecture will take place at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 in the Glen A. Lloyd Auditorium of the University of Chicago Law School. A reception will follow the lecture. Please note: seating is limited and is available  by ticket only to students,  faculty, and alumni of the Law School. Alumni of the Law School who would like a ticket for the lecture should contact Leslie Hauser. Very limited seating may be available to the general public on the day of the event.
