Thank you for your interest in serving as an alumni mentor with the University of Chicago Law Affinity Mentoring Program! The Affinity Mentoring Programs provide first-year law students the opportunity to connect with the UChicago Law alumni community to equip them with the tools and resources to guide their success in the legal profession.
Recruitment for the 2024-2025 programs are now open! To serve as a volunteer alumni mentor, please complete and submit the form below by 5:00 PM Central on Friday, October 18.
Please note, this year we are extending our mentoring programs to include virtual mentorships with alumni located outside of Chicago. While we do our best to pair every alum with a student mentee, pairings are made based on student interest and/or demand and we cannot guarantee you will be matched with a student. Pairing announcements will be made in late October.
Additionally, in place of the Affinity Mentoring Program Kickoff event and the small cohort dinners this year, we will be providing a stipend to 1L Mentees for a coffee or lunch with their mentors. This change is designed to foster more meaningful, one-on-one interactions between students and their mentors. By facilitating these personalized meetings, we aim to enhance engagement and support throughout the mentoring process. We strongly encourage mentees to take the initiative in scheduling these meetings, as we believe that a student-driven approach will further enrich the mentoring relationship and ensure that it meets their unique needs.
If you have questions about the Affinity Mentoring Program, please contact Anna Jenkins, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, at annajenkins274@uchicago.edu.
