For 75 years, the National Lawyers Guild has aimed to represent progressive political movements and to protect human rights over property rights in the pursuit of social justice. The University of Chicago Chapter strives to inform and advocate for considerations of social and economic justice in the study of law, hopes to involve young lawyers in their professional and social duty to their community, and pushes for laws that protect the economic and social welfare of the people. The National Lawyers Guild accomplishes these goals both by bringing outside voices in to the Law School, as well as by training and serving as Legal Observers to curtail potential abuses of state power. We look forward to hearing from you!
